Read this if: You are committed to giving to worthy charities, but you don’t want your money to end up in the hands of the social worker or any unworthy individual
Cost: Dependent on you, but giving to bogus charities is costly and futile
Gain: Avoid making bad decisions regarding donations by keeping yourself informed about who is legitimate and who isn’t.
1. Village Reach: A charity that is determined to distribute medical supplies and provide treatment across Africa. This is considered a great charity option, as all of the monies received go directly into paying for medical supplies.
2. Stop TB Partnership: This organization is committed to treating TB worldwide, and money donated goes to treatment as well as the development of medication that the disease cannot resist.
3. AMF (Against Malaria Foundation): Malaria is a huge killer in Africa, and this foundation offers crucial medical assistance.
4. Trees for Children: This charity invests money to plant trees, which helps the environment, and then harvests the wood to build and develop African villages.
5. End Polio: An initiative driven by the Rotary club that aims to eliminate polio across the globe. The far-reaching network of the club distributes and uses funds correctly.
6. Reach for a Dream: A charity that makes the wildest dreams of terminally ill children come true. Large amounts of money are needed to make these dreams happen, but they will make the last months or days of a child’s life memorable and special.
7. The Red Nose Foundation: An institution in the world of charity. Funds are gathered via donations or through the purchase of red noses. Money then goes to helping the treatment of cancer in children.
8. Hope for the poor children: In the ongoing efforts to restore the quality of life to the people who were traumatized by the devastating Haitian earthquake, this charity targets the plight of orphans, and uses funds to improve their lives.
9. Water Works: Dirty water is the leading cause of death globally. This brave charity has selected the extremely dry and under-developed areas of sub-Saharan Africa, and is trying to improve the supply of water to outlying areas.
10. Meals for Homeless Veterans: A small donation of just $25 can help to provide food for one of the thousands of American war veterans who are currently living on the streets.
