AWTS Board of Directors Board Composition Another Way Texas Shares is, and has always been, governed by our member organizations. Each of our member groups holds one voting seat on our board of directors. The board also includes up to five at-large seats to be filled by community representatives. At-large board members serve one-year terms, with no term limits. At-large openings are currently available on our board of directors. There is no formal application; interested individuals should instead submit a letter to the AWTS board expressing his/her interest, as well as a resume or list of qualifications. Applications will be presented to the board for approval at one of their regular meetings, and applicants will be notified of the board's decision following the meeting. Meetings are usually held four times per year, in February, May, August, and November. Board Committees As a membership organization, Another Way Texas Shares' member organizations are asked to support the future growth of AWTS through board committee work. Members are encouraged to serve on a committee of their choice, if possible, or to provide information and assistance to committees as requested. AWTS currently has three major committees: Campaign Expansion Membership Strategic Planning Other, temporary committees can be formed as needed at the discretion of the board. Member representatives interested in serving on or otherwise assisting any board committee should contact AWTS. Campaign Expansion Committee This committee seeks to create new workplace giving campaigns where they do not exist, and expand existing campaigns to include AWTS and its members as giving options for employees. The campaign expansion committee identifies prospective businesses throughout Texas and assists AWTS staff with initial contacts and follow-up within prospective businesses.
